In Socialtext, tags help you identify information so it can be found later on. Every page can have any number of tags.
View tags for a page. When viewing a page, its tags are listed in the "Tags" box in the sidebar. If you can't see the sidebar, click SHOW in the upper right corner of the page to open the sidebar.
View tags for a person. (NOTE: This is a feature of Socialtext People. It is only available to those who have it enabled.) Click on a profile photo or a person's name to take you to their Profile page. Here you will see a People Tags widget displaying all the tags attached to this person.
View all tags. Visit the Workspace Toolbar and click All tags to see all the tags in the workspace. You will see an alphabetical list of all of the defined tags. Clicking on any tag will show a list of all pages with that tag.You can also install Workspace Tags on your personal dashboard. This will display a cloud of tags currently used in a workspace.
View all People tags. (NOTE: This is a feature of Socialtext People. It is only available to those who have it enabled.) Go to your personal dashboard by clicking Home. Click the ADD CONTENT button. Select All People Tags from the Widget Gallery. You now see on your dashboard via the widget a cloud of People Tags showing all the tags currently used by everyone in your wiki world.
For information on editing People Tags visit: Profile (Tags).
When you are browsing a page, you can edit the tags directly in the Tags box.
Assign a tag. Click the Add tag button to add a tag. A box will appear that lets you enter a tag.
Suggestions are provided below the box, based on the characters you have typed so far and the tags that already exist in the workspace. Clicking a suggested tag will add that tag. To save your newly entered tag, press Enter or click the Save tag button.
Remove a tag. Click the Delete button (red circle surrounding a '-') next to a tag to remove it from the page.
NOTE: All workspace weblog names are also tag names. Assigning a weblog as a tag (e.g. assigning the tag My Weblog) publishes the page to that weblog.
Within Wiki Text mode, you can refer to tags within your pages, in effect, linking to a tag.
You can also list the most recently updated pages with a given tag directly inside your pages.
It is easiest to link to tags and include tags by using WikiWidgets in Rich Text mode.
