^^The Major League
The Major League is where the big things happen. Code and Applications I simply need to lead a fulfilling life. Well, not really, but it sounds better.
- Butler - by far the most important tool in my digital shed. Application launcher, clipboard extension allowing multiple clipboards, hotkeys to launch applications, and a very cooly made search engine meta-engine. It's simply the best.
- WindowShadeX - not only emulates the old OS 9 "roll into title bar" behavior but also allows me to make windows translucent and minimize them to the side of the desktop. Indispensable.
- CodeTek Virtual Desktop - multiple desktops and "focus follows mouse". I need this. There's an OpenSource alternative called Desktop Manager, which might unset VirtualDesktop in a few releases. Once "switch desktop when application becomes active" is finished, I'll switch for sure.
- ecto - how else would I be blogging this? Phil is working on Userspace again, so we might see two great XML-RPC tools out there, soon.
- NetNewsWire Pro - Please don't kill me, Brent, but I actually forgot NNW in my first list revision. Which goes to show how deeply NNW has made it into my daily life. As far as news aggregators go, NNW is the king of the hill. And there's a lot more to come in NNW2, which - Brent promises - will be out as a public beta, soon.
- Audio Hijack Pro - record, intercept, and enhance any audio played on your Mac. Turn those DSPs into some better ones, record live streams, etc. (payware, $32).
