Joi Ito's Moblogging, Blogmapping and Moblogmapping related resources as of 6/10/2003

I think that "Moblogging" like "Blogging" isn't really something that's technically new. It is the popularization and the impact of many people doing it that is exciting to me. Blogging can be said to be just online diaries. Moblogging is just mail-to-web. Moblogging is just an extention of wearable computing. Fine. Call it whatever you like, but let's do it, make it widely available and have fun and change the world.

ability to post to a blog from a mobile device
- mail to post - Standard feature in many blog packages (see blogcomp for a comparison) Movable Type Doesn't include it so you can use QMAIL2MT.PL (PERL) or mail2entry (python) to do it.
- deals with attached images - mail2entry (Movable Type), Kuku Radio tool (Radio Userland), NewBay FoneBlog
- access control or some security feature - currently everyone uses security through obscurity
- Audio Blogging - Audblog blogging service for Blogger from mobile phones
Location
- Linking locations to blogs
- Linking blogs to locations
- Location information from mobile devices
- Mangement of uploaded photos in blog format
- auto thumbnailing - Fotolog (hosted service), Movable Type
- Supporting open standards such as MetaWeblog API
